Durham Film Festival 2026 Screening and Awards Ceremony

Welcome to Durham Film Festival 2026!
We are a short film festival committed to championing student filmmaking. Created by Durham University students and supported by the British Film Institute (BFI), the festival aims to create a hub for young filmmakers to connect and gain recognition.
Join us on the 13th of June for a celebration of innovative student filmmaking, curated by Durham Film Festival’s Content Programming team. We are thrilled to be screening outstanding submissions from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas this year, standing to win awards such as Best Picture and People’s Choice, among others. A distinguished panel, including judges from the BFI, will be evaluating these films and hosting the awards ceremony at the end of the night.
Doors will open at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm start. The dress code for the event is black-tie. The bar will be open during intervals.
