Redhills Sundays (11am – 2pm) with Redhills Folk (2-4pm)

Join us every Sunday from 11am–2pm for a warm welcome at Redhills.
This week we will host Redhills Folk from 2-4pm
Explore Durham’s historic Miners’ Hall, discover our latest exhibitions, enjoy family-friendly creative activities, and relax with drinks, snacks and seasonal lunch offers from our café. Children can uncover the stories of Redhills with our explorer backpacks, while everyone can enjoy volunteer-led talks and short film screenings throughout the day.
Entry is free, with a pay-what-you-feel donation.
Visitors can also stay throughout the afternoon for a programme of ticketed events, including our popular guided tours of Redhills, inspiring talks, brass band concerts, folk and contemporary music performances, film screenings and special events celebrating the culture, heritage and creativity of the Durham Coalfield.
After 2pm on 6th September we will be hosting Redhills Folk.
“Redhills Folk” is a new opportunity to experience and enjoy the wonderful Redhills, by being part of a “Folk Music ” gathering in the Banner Room from 2.-4.p.m. In a “Singaround ” format , come and perform songs-tunes or simply enjoy listening and join in choruses. It will be hosted by Bill Elliott (Elliotts of Birtley) and currently a member of the “Northern Roots” band regular performers at the Durham Miner’s Gala. This is in an “unplugged format” but if you need a PA just let us know!
No tickets required – just come along and join in!
