NE Street Band
In 1985 after his St James Park gigs Bruce Springsteen personally donated $20’000 to the Durham Miners Support Group, which at the time was a great sum of money & helped many families going through hardship. A wonderful gesture by Springsteen & something still remembered fondly ever since, especially here in Co Durham with a lot of people getting into his music because of his gesture.
So when we were approached by local Springsteen tribute ‘The NE Street Band’ we thought this would be a perfect fit here in our iconic space for a night of music by ‘The Boss’
So, we are therefore thrilled to welcome to Redhills, for a night of all things Springsteen AND much more the fantastic ‘NE STREET BAND’
The band regularly perform around the country & have played at some amazing venues & continue to grow from strength to strength with an ever growing fan base
This gig sees the band’s SEVEN piece line up performing their ‘Acoustic Sessions’ show which includes many of Springsteen’s big hits and iconic album tracks as well as a number of songs from the ‘We Shall Overcome’ Seeger Sessions albums which include the aforementioned title track & other old folk tunes back all reworked for a 7 piece acoustic band.
The band’s ‘Acoustic Sessions’ gigs are something a little different to their full bigger venue rock shows as the band swap their electric guitars for acoustic guitars, accordions, fiddles, flutes as well as piano, saxophone with their amazing harmonies too…
An engaging & high energy show which we are very much looking forward to seeing
Backed by a full professional PA and lighting this is must for all Springsteen fans but also for fans of Americana, country & folk music.
