Artist Q&A and Exhibition Tour: Coal Face

Join artist Andy Martin at this week’s Redhills Sunday for a special Q&A and exhibition tour exploring COAL FACE, his ongoing documentary project celebrating the people, communities and enduring legacy of the Durham Coalfield.

Discover striking handmade tintype portraits, hear the stories behind the images, and explore Andy’s growing archive of portraits, first-hand testimonies and historic artefacts. Created in collaboration with former miners, their families and mining communities, the project honours the resilience, heritage and lived experiences of the people who helped shape our region.
