SUMMARY:A Christmas Carol with Alfie Joey
DESCRIPTION:This winter\, feel the chill of Christmas past\, the urgency of the present\, and the hope of a future redeemed as Alfie Joey\, performs his own solo version of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens; a timeless tale\, told like you’ve never seen it before. \nStep into the flicker of candlelight and the crackle of a winter’s night as Alfie Joey (much loved ‘BBC presenter’ and ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ impressionist) brings A Christmas Carol vividly to life in a spellbinding solo performance that will warm even the coldest of hearts. \nWith nothing but his extraordinary gift for storytelling and a dazzling repertoire of voices\, Alfie transforms some of the North East’s much loved venues (and hidden gems) into Dickens’ London—where Scrooge snarls\, Marley rattles his chains\, and Bob Cratchit’s quiet hope melts the frostiest heart. Every character\, every moment\, every ghostly whisper is conjured before your eyes in a performance that is by turns hilarious\, haunting\, and deeply moving.

SUMMARY:Krapp’s Last Tape
DESCRIPTION:Revel in Samuel Beckett’s riveting journey into the human soul as we enter Krapp’s world of solitude\, memories\, dreams\, elation\, and despair. \nKrapp’s Last Tape is a journey through an old man’s life\, filled with hilarious memories and hopes for the future\, coupled with the mourning of lost love and unfulfilled ambition. \nThis production\, directed by Academy Award nominee Stockard Channing and starring David Westhead\, tours globally throughout 2025. \nRevel in Samuel Beckett’s classic play\, as audiences are invited into Krapp’s world of solitude\, memories\, dreams\, elation\, and despair. \nThis touring production has been brought to life in disused function rooms\, underground vaults\, former jails\, and dusty factories. We are transported to a land of joy\, sadness\, lost ambition\, love\, madness\, and hope. \n \n  \n  \nBringing her unique directorial vision to this production\, Academy Award nominee Stockard Channing (Grease\, The West Wing\, Six Degrees of Separation) explores the intricate layers of Beckett’s masterpiece and Krapp’s solitary world. Starring David Westhead (W1A\, Strike\, Star Wars\, Enola Holmes\, The Bodyguard)\, a veteran of The Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company\, this 50-minute theatrical experience delves into the life of Krapp who\, at the age of 69\, looks back over his life and tries to make sense of it through listening to tape recordings he made as a younger man\, recordings which diarise the daily events of his life. \nStockard Channing\nThe Birmingham Press has described Channing’s production as “a complete stunner – everything comes down to the acting and\, in the case of Krapp’s Last Tape\, to the ability of one man to hold the stage. Westhead\, intense and compelling\, and returning to the theatre after several years of absence\, looked as if he had never been away.” \n  \nThe production has toured globally to eclectic\, site-specific venues\, from disused function rooms to underground vaults\, affording an intimate and powerful theatrical experience. Audiences are invited to stay for an optional Q&A session with Stockard Channing and David Westhead following selected performances\, offering deeper insights into Beckett’s timeless work. \n  \nJohn McAndrew of the Royal Shakespeare Company praised the production as “Just terrific…brilliant\, outrageous\, and heartbreaking\,” as it continues to captivate audiences worldwide with its exploration of memory\, lost love\, and unfulfilled ambition. \n\nSee what our audiences have to say…\n“Just terrific…..such a wonderful piece of work. Brilliant\, outrageous\, and a tribute to the vaudeville that exists in Beckett… heartbreaking.” John McAndrew\, Royal Shakespeare Company“A magical evening in a wonderfully evocative setting full of ghosts……” Duncan Duff\, Royal National Theatre“A fantastic night. Unforgettable actually.” Kelly Hunter MBE\, Flute Theatre Company“Just the same old Krapp\, but somehow better than ever…” Andrew Darnton\, independent researcher in behavioural theory and systems change.“Just so special – a fabulous performance….” Claudia Selby\, TV producer and director“Fantastic performance from David Westhead – Ms Channing clearly kicked him into shape. My daughter said it was the best thing she had ever seen!” Ed Stobart\, Director\, Alleycats Film and TV
