Join psychological entertainer Ledge as he demonstrates the hidden powers of YOUR mind through stunning mentalism. In this 45-minute journey\, discover how belief\, visualization\, silence\, and change shape reality itself. You’ll witness thoughts read\, predictions revealed\, and the boundaries between possible and impossible blur. This isn’t just a show—it’s proof of what becomes possible when you truly believe. Prepare to question everything you think you know. 5.30 p.m. (45 mins) \n  \nStories from the Streets: Dan Husband\n‘Stories from the Streets’ strays away from the one hour show to be broken down across a weekend\, whilst allowing other spoken word talent and opportunity to showcase their style alongside me! SUMMARY:Durham Folk Festival
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to Durham Folk Festival!\nFirst\, a little introduction. If you weren’t aware of Durham Folk Festival till now\, that’s not surprising! Till very recently they were Hartlepool Folk Festival. \nFounded in 2015\, for ten years HFF was the home of magical happenings\, unforgettable experiences and the very finest in folk music. Unfortunately\, 2025 saw the closure of the Borough Hall\, their mainstage venue\, which put the future of the festival at risk. With real regret\, they concluded that the only way forward was to explore alternative locations. \nFestival Organiser Joanie Crump said\, “Sad as we are to leave Hartlepool\, we’re delighted to have found a new home – and what a home! From medieval architecture to cobblestone streets\, Durham transports you back in time. Whether it’s the Land of the Prince Bishops or the beating heart of the Durham coalfield\, there is so much to discover. Join us as we reveal all that this sublime location has to offer\, with its two UNESCO World Heritage Sites\, spectacular settings and boundless charm. And\, of course\, the first-class events\, fabulous music and warm welcome you came to expect at Hartlepool!” \nFor further information about Durham Folk Festival\, click here. \nFor Weekend Tickets\, click here.

SUMMARY:Voices from the Lough: Lí Ban; Barry Kerr
DESCRIPTION:One concert\, 2 perspectives\, a singular heritage. Voices from the Lough is a celebration of Lough Neagh and the Bann in the ancient province of Ulster by the world-class musicians it has produced. \nFirst up is Barry Kerr\, a multi-instrumentalist and singer whose music expresses the very heart of Irish life. Originally from the southern shores of Lough Neagh\, his music is deeply rooted in place — shaped by the lough\, the communities that raised him\, and the stories he feels compelled to pass on. Barry holds the current title of Folk Album of the Year for Curlew’s Cry. \nNext up is Lí Ban. Winner of both RTE and BBC Radio’s Folk Singer of the Year title\, Ríoghnach Connolly collaborates here with family – aunts\, uncles and cousins – to interpret and share the traditions of Lough Neagh. The ties that bind tradition and people are writ large\, as this Armagh clan serve up a repertoire seldom heard outside its own locale. This extends to the instrumentation\, which includes the rare\, wire-strung Downhill Harp. \nThis is a chance to experience music steeped in regional heritage\, forged where generations fished the waters\, built boats and composed songs that were woven into a once-vibrant tradition. \nClick Here for Tickets

SUMMARY:Banter; Jez Lowe; Sam Carter sings Nic Jones
DESCRIPTION:Banter are four fine musicians rooted firmly in traditional English music\, but who enjoy testing the limits: Simon Care on melodeon & concertina\, Nina Zella on keyboards & vocals\, Tim Walker on drums\, percussion\, brass\, guitar\, bass & vocals and Mark Jolley on bass\, fiddle\, guitar & vocals. \nAlthough just four people\, they create a huge sound and have been described as ‘the world’s smallest big band’. \nWe couldn’t possibly have our first festival in our new home without County Durham’s most beloved folk singer. Over the past four decades\, Jez Lowe has been one of the UK’s best –-and busiest – singer-songwriters. His songs often contain powerful social commentary\, wrapped up in lyrical brilliance and with more than a smattering of North East humour. Those who have recorded Jez’s songs include Fairport Convention\, The Dubliners\, The Unthanks\, The Young Uns\, Bob Fox\, Liam Clancy\, The Black Family and many more. \nSam Carter creates a loving tribute to one of the genre’s most influential artists. Nic Jones’ innovative\, groundbreaking guitar style and profoundly emotive singing have inspired generations of folk musicians\, and his seminal album\, Penguin Eggs\, remains a treasured masterpiece over four decades later. \nHailed by fellow folk artist Jon Boden as “the finest English-style fingerpicking guitarist of his generation\,” Sam is uniquely positioned to interpret this revered repertoire. This performance presents a rare opportunity to experience Nic Jones’ timeless songs\, brought to life on stage by a master of the folk tradition. \nClick Here for Tickets

SUMMARY:Windborne; Angeline Morrison
DESCRIPTION:Joining us from New England in the USA\, Windborne’s music has deep roots in traditions of vocal harmony. Lauren Breunig\, Jeremy Carter-Gordon\, Lynn Rowan\, and Will Rowan share a vibrant energy onstage with a blending of voices that can only come from decades of vocal collaboration. But there’s another\, crucial dimension to Windborne that roots their artistry. They are advocates of folk music’s long alliance with social activism\, Labour and civil rights. Their latest project\, Of Hard Times & Harmony\, explores themes of social consciousness\, as well as delivering moments of true hilarity and wit. \n  \nBBC Radio Scotland’s Travelling Folk describes Windborne as “subverting expectations and redefining the genre… absolutely phenomenal!” \n  \nRecently hailed as one of MOJO’s ‘voices taking folk into the future’\, Angeline Morrison is a singer\, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose work combines a deep love of traditional song\, a deep respect for the hidden ancestral voices of Old Albion\, and explorations of diaspora\, nation and history. Angeline has played the acoustic stage at Glastonbury and appeared on BBC2’s Later With Jools Holland. In May 2022\, her album The Brown Girl and Other Folk Songs was voted The Guardian’s Folk Album of the Month. The Sorrow Songs: Folk Songs of Black British Experience traces the historic Black presence in Britain which dates back to at least Roman times\, yet is often hidden\, forgotten or unacknowledged. In December 2022 The Sorrow Songs was voted No 1 Folk album of the year in The Guardian. \nClick Here for Tickets

SUMMARY:Simply Dylan - Acoustic
DESCRIPTION:(note – price above includes all booking fees and historic building levies) \nThis show brought to you by Redhills Live in association with Big Mouth Productions. \nWe feel lucky and privileged to have secured a date for this one! \nSimply Dylan is the brainchild of John O’Connell. No frills\, no gimmicks\, no pretence – this is ‘a tribute to Bob Dylan\, not a Bob Dylan tribute’. \nHis band’s precise playing and high-energy renditions of Dylan’s work from the 1970s onwards have gathered momentum and generated incredible interest from modest origins as a project recognising Dylan’s 70th Birthday in 2011. \nSince then Simply Dylan have gone from strength to strength. Their tours take in some of the finest venues in the land – from The Lowry in Salford to Liverpool Royal Philharmonic to the Glasshouse a bit closer to home. And they’ve also sold out the Cavern Club multiple times\, received fantastic reviews for their international tours and opened up the Big Top Stage at the Isle of Wight Festival. \nWe’re bringing the acoustic version of the show to Redhills\, featuring a super-talented multi-instrumentalist 4-piece band that includes violin\, sax\, acoustic and electric guitars\, banjo\, mandolin and harmonica alongside soul-stirring vocal harmonies. \nTake it from us – this will be a great show! \nLast word goes to Alan Bleasdale\, playwright of Boys from the Blackstuff fame. \n‘Together\, Simply Dylan marry the extraordinary range and beauty of Dylan’s lyrics with the joyous and exuberant\, celebratory sound I have always secretly wanted to hear whenever\, in recent decades\, I have listened to Bob Dylan. No one can ever go back in time to recall the wonder and near disbelief of discovering Dylan for the first time\, but I can make no finer tribute to Simply Dylan than to reveal that they allowed this old man to go back and listen again with love to his first and only hero.’ \n  \nBar Open: 6.30pm\nDoors: 7.00pm\nFirst set: 7.30pm – 8.20pm\nSecond set: 8.40pm – 9.30pm (approx) \nSet lengths approximate. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

SUMMARY:The Unthanks in Winter - 6.30pm & 8.30pm
DESCRIPTION:Tickets for Friday 4th December – 6.30pm – Click Here\nTickets for Friday 4th December – 8.30pm – Click Here\n★★★★★\n“WRAP UP WARMLY FOR AN ARTFUL TRIUMPH”\nSONGLINES \n★★★★★\n“SURPASSING EVEN THEIR HIGH STANDARDS”\nR2 \n★★★★\n“A TIMELESS CELEBRATION OF WINTER”\nRECORD COLLECTOR \n★★★★★\n“AN ABSOLUTE GEM”\nNARC \n★★★★\n“BREATHTAKING AS FREEZING AIR”\nTHE TELEGRAPH \n★★★★\n“TRULY BEAUTIFUL” QQ\nTHE ARTS DESK \nThe Unthanks in Winter\nDescribed as ‘the gold standard’ of all winter records alongside Frost and Fire by The Watersons in a five star review from the Times\, The Unthanks In Winter is a dream-like winter fantasia\, embracing both the dark and the light in the most ritualistic of seasons. Moving in and out of focus\, like a memory\, In Winter is a bittersweet hymnal to our shared winter experience. It’s an extensive\, completist time-capsule of the season\, featuring Christmas tunes known throughout the world from multiple cultures\, mixed with the traditional and the newly written\, all passed with great care and love through The Unthanks filter. \nIn Winter has been described as “an artful triumph” (Songlines)\, “a massive statement” (Klof)\, “the definitive folk album for winter” (TradFolk)\, “the essence of winter in all its emotional complexity” (Fatea)\, “an absolute gem and one of the finest albums the Unthanks have given us yet” (Narc)\, “truly beautiful music\, full of winter chill and familial warmth“ (Buzz)\, “As breathtaking as freezing air” (The Telegraph)\, “a rare beast that transcends the notion of a Christmas album” (Silent Radio)\, “the familiar made strange (The Wire) and “a timeless celebration of winter. One of the few albums of its type to transcend its limited purpose.” (Record Collector). \nIn their typical magpie style\, The Unthanks collect and reimagine\, at once unique and familiar\, inventive but natural and effortless. Hear a Tyneside band playing a German Christmas song in the style of The Beach Boys; a Spanish carol performed by English folkies through the filter of Tom Waits; a French carol given desert-blues menace\, a newly written tribute to the NHS to the tune of O Holy Night; a wintry opening piece inspired by A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten; traditional wassails and old stories coloured with folk noir and traces of Vincent Guaraldi’s Merry Christmas Charlie Brown. \nIn Winter is a world in itself\, capturing the warmth and nostalgia of the festive season\, the chill and darkness of the winter months\, and the reflective ritualisms of the turn of the year; the end and beginning of the circle of life. \n \n“While the gold standard remains The Watersons’ 1965 classic Frost and Fire\, this album is beautiful\, atmospheric and profound enough to take its place alongside it” – The Times ★★★★★ \n“A 75 minute opus. The Unthanks have made the definitive folk album for winter.” – TradFolk \n“In Winter is an absolute gem\, one of the finest albums the Unthanks have given us yet and guaranteed to soundtrack Christmases for a long time to come.” – NARC ★★★★★ \n“A massive statement. Again and again\, the band finds ways to defy expectations. In Winter by The Unthanks is a rare offering that evokes the vast emotions of the cold winter months.” – KLOF \n“Wrap up warmly for an artful triumph” – Songlines ★★★★★ \n“The highlights are too many to list.. the arrangements are exquisitely beautiful and measured. The whole is limpidly beautiful\, moving and bears listening to repeatedly\, such is the simplicity and space in the sound. It is exactly what I expected from The Unthanks but still full of their usual surprises. Always gorgeous and pure-sounding but never taking a song head-on without excavating for its emotional heart.” – Vanguard \n“In Winter is a truly beautiful collection of songs. A record that will no doubt make many more appearances at this time in years to come\, such is its magical power. They know how to bring out the drama of a song – they are great singers\, and great actors of what a song needs to come alive” – The Arts Desk ★★★★ \n“I am begging you to check this out! Rather brilliant” – God Is In The TV ★★★★ \n“The Unthanks unleash a concept album to challenge the concepts of even the hardiest grinch\, all performed with their ineffable idiosyncracy. McNally’s arrangements are a masterclass in controlled decorum. Find yourself an hour and a bit\, and play it\, alone and to yourself\, no skipping.” – At The Barrier \n“Exquisitely crafted. In Winter is a deeply evocative\, haunting album that captures the essence of winter in all its emotional complexity.” – FATEA \n“The Unthanks voices are as heavenly as ever. Add to that rather short list of ‘Christmas albums you’ll play more than once in your life’” Uncut \n  \nwww.the-unthanks.com\nwww.twitter.com/TheUnthanks\nwww.facebook.com/TheUnthanks\nhttps://www.instagram.com/theunthanksband/
