SUMMARY:New Writing at Redhills: A Celebration of Coalfield Stories
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of live performance as new voices take to the stage at Redhills. \nThis special event marks the culmination of a four-week creative writing course led by Writer in Residence Andy Willoughby\, bringing together original work shaped by the stories\, histories and lived experiences of coalfield communities. \nThrough poetry\, short fiction and dramatic monologue\, participants will share newly created pieces inspired by personal memory\, family history and the rich social heritage of the Durham coalfield. These performances offer a unique opportunity to hear fresh perspectives and contemporary voices emerging from a place deeply rooted in collective history. \nSet within the historic surroundings of Redhills\, this event continues the building’s long tradition as a space for gathering\, expression and community voice—connecting past and present through creativity. \nRedhills bar will be open for refreshments and light snacks. \n  \nTicket Pricing \nAt Redhills\, we want everyone to feel welcome — whatever their financial situation. That’s why most of our events use a flexible pricing system.For these events\, you can choose from three ticket options: \n\nOpen Concession – If money’s tight\, choose this rate. No questions asked — we’re just glad you’re here.\nStandard – If you’re able\, we encourage you to choose this option. It helps support Redhills and the independent artists and companies we work with.\nSolidarity Price – If you can give a little more\, please consider this option.
